And The Oscar Goes To...

There is always so much hype about the Oscars.
Often, I find it to be an event that feeds self involved egos out of control.

I don't often agree with the choices made by The Academy but sometimes
they get it right.
Do you watch the Oscars from opening bit to closing award?
Are you one that loves the clothing, jewels, and the shoes?
As for me, I could take it or leave it.
Seriously.

I enjoy Oscar Night. Not for the clothes,bling, etc....but I love to see who wins and I'm always pulling for the underdog!! I love it when the underdog movie or actor wins....=)

I'll usually watch the last 10 minutes of it... just to see picture of the year. The next day, I'll check out the "oh no she didn't" gowns on line. That's about all I need!

Hi Deb...I was just telling my husband that this will be the very first year that I won't be watching the Oscars..It seems by the media that all the winners are already pre-determined...I saw some great performances in movies this year that were totally over looked and I think the worst of the worst is the talk that Heath Ledger will win as supporting actor for Batman....Why would they give an award to someone who died of a drug overdose....who didn't think enough of life and abused it...If these people had any sense they would give the award to Robert Downey Jr....he was a drug addict but atleast it appears that he beat his addiction and gave a very funny performance in Tropic Thunder...I guess because he played the role in black face it's considered not politically correct...but he deserves it more then the other guy....Just my opinion!!

I like watching the Oscar red carpet show - it appears just before the Oscar presentation begins. I actually "get" the Oscars. It is the ultimate reward for those who excel in their [motion picture industry] craft. I'm not a fashionista, but I do like to see the clothes and jewels. Perhaps I live a bit variously through the rich and famous. I'm not glued to the TV, and if something else comes along, I wouldn't feel I missed anthing if I didn't watch the Oscars. I can catch the highlights the day after. Still, it's entertainment at it's finest ;)

Christmas in July Give A Way

What better way to celebrate the middle of summer with a give a way for one lucky blogging friend? Just because I want to, I will be giving away a Christmas box with an accordion album. This happens to be my design and I have already given one away last December. Sorry, Kate , you will have to sit this one out! This paper mache box holds an accordion album inside. More than likely, I will make a minor modification to the box before shipping it to its new home. I really love these vintage papers from Melissa Frances Scrapbook . Her collection of designs and patterns reminds me of a little sea side cottage. I can smell the ocean spray right now. Tyler Florence Made Me Breakfast!

Yes, it is true!  Tyler Florence from Food Network made me blueberry pancakes, maple sugar pepper bacon and caramelized bananas.  How did this happen, you say?  In short, my children gave me tickets to The Metropolitan Cooking Show in Atlanta as a birthday present.  Being a diehard Tyler Florence fanatic, I opted for the special show to gaze upon my favorite celebrity chef.  Not being a shy gal, I ran up to the mike to ask my very probing question.  “What is the secret of making risotto?” Here I am on the big screen asking my question to Tyler Florence. My question monopolized a good portion of the Q & A time.  Sorry, Tyler.  But I just had to know! As Tyler began to plate up his creation, he called to me over the loud speaker!
