Christmas in July Give A Way

Image
What better way to celebrate the middle of summer with a give a way for one lucky blogging friend? Just because I want to, I will be giving away a Christmas box with an accordion album. This happens to be my design and I have already given one away last December. Sorry, Kate , you will have to sit this one out! This paper mache box holds an accordion album inside. More than likely, I will make a minor modification to the box before shipping it to its new home. I really love these vintage papers from Melissa Frances Scrapbook . Her collection of designs and patterns reminds me of a little sea side cottage. I can smell the ocean spray right now. These papers bring me back to a time when I think I would have loved to live…The Victorian Age. But let’s not fool anyone, I want all of the modern day luxuries. This paper on the left takes me back to a time when I played with cut outs. I was never a doll kid, but give me cut outs and I was happy for days. S o if you think you would ...

Second Try...Give A Way

I am surprised that no one guessed correctly. Perhaps my taste in movies is considered out there by my blogging friends. Here's the truth and nothing but the truth!!!! As much as this may surprise you, I considered Quantum of Solace very good. Believe me, I wanted to hate it so much because for me, there will never be a more sexier Bond than Pierce Bronson. So he's getting a little pouch but that far out weighs the dark hair and those piercing (no pun intended...well, maybe a little) blue eyes. As any Bond movie, it was full of the high speed chases, breath taking scenery (Italy), and well, an incredible "save the world" script. Never really thought much of Liam Neeson as a tough guy, ex CIA operative before, but intrigued by the whole "save my child" angle, I rented Taken . This movie was very entertaining in an ex spy kind of way and take no prisoners alive scheme. Who knew Liam could climb on a 4 inch ledge 4 stories above a cobblestone courtyard? Liked ...

At The Movies & A Give A Way!!!

Image
You can say we have been on a movie watching frenzy! In over the course of three days, we have watched the following movies. Partly due to the fact that my son purchased his Dad a Blueray DVD for his birthday. Pink Panther 2 He’s Just Not That Into You Taken Quantum of Solace Valkyrie In my expert opinion, I found that I really enjoyed 3 out of 5 of these movies. I believe one movie was clearly too long. The other movie was not very enjoyable. Just sayin' The first person to correctly name the films that I did not like… will win a prize! It's a lovely cat pattern cloth paper back book cover. Perfect for covering those summer beach must reads! Easy…right? Good Luck!!! p.s ...no one has come close to guessing...come on ladies...I'm not that complicated!

Goals…and Then Some

Image
This week, I vow to complete 3 out of these 5 projects. 1.  Finish reading Dan Brown’s Deception Point 2.  Finish reading Nora Robert’s 3. Complete the book I am in the process of making for my Mother 4.   Clean my desk/craft table 5.  Organize my rubber stamps to finally get them out of the boxes and on the shelf 6. Finish my lovely book from last Sunday’s class.  7.  Make sure I visit 8 crafting blogs, one a day to enter the big give a way from Spellbinder's Give a Way 8.  Learn my new phone (oh, wait…that’s more things than I agreed to do) Any bets on what I really do this week? Does anyone know what type of flower this is?  I posted it because I really love the texture of the leaves. Granted, it has nothing to do with this post, but it’s my blog and I can post whatever I want!!!

Here is the Christmas box that I am making with lots of love. It is slightly different from the one I sent my sister (umm...she thought I bought it...duhh). None the less, I love the green version as well. Hubby helped me with this undertaking. I read off the names from the comment section and he wrote them all down. Next, I checked every one's blogs to see who linked the Give A Way and they received an extra ticket. Hubby takes his job very seriously. Did I tell you...he chuckled at some of the names you ladies have on your blogs! AsthmaGirl? Country Girl? Well, he just doesn't get "us". I wished that I could make a Christmas box for everyone....but that would be very difficult. And the winner is..... Country Girl! Imagine how lovely her fantastic photos will look in my little gift. Kate, be sure to email me so I can mail this little treat out to you next week.

Time's Up

I'm off to tabulate the findings. Where is my Ernst & Young accountant? I hope the winner likes my green theme!

Merriment of the Season!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a spectacular time and celebrated the Birth of Our Lord in you own very special way. Here's our whole family, sans my side, gathering on the couch for a photo. Uncle Steven on the floor with his nephew playing the part of protective uncle! One of Jack's presents had tissue paper in it. He played with the paper for at least 10 minutes squealing with joy! Oh, if you are wondering why there is a bottle of Purex behind Jack, it was a gag gift from my daughter and SIL. My husband lives for doing the laundry! If we are at their place for more than an hour, he finds their own laundry and starts the wash! A nice obsession to have... Christmas is all about children. Jack was a delight to have around yesterday. He thought it was pretty cool, too. I believe I must have practiced what I preached because I woke up with a whopper of a headache which should be classified as a migraine. Up at 9 this morning, I vaguely remember swallowing some Ad...

An Accomplishment of Grand Proportions

Image
Now, I am not bragging, but I accomplished everything on my to do list for Sunday. Yep! And it feels soooo good. Often, when I feel as if I'm running around with my head cut off, I have to just sit down and make a list. It may be simplistic, but for me, it works wonders. I promised photos of the little box I am sending to my sister. That reminds me of the special gift that Kate received this year. Hmmm...there may be a theme here. Here is the picture of the outside of the box. The Santa is actually 3 D, thanks to little pop dots. The box is sitting on extra paper as I didn't want you to see my cutting matt with all of its scars. Note the hardware that actually works. The inside of the box is lined with this vintage paper. Inside the box holds a stand up album. My sister will go ga ga over this paper. I expect a call from her because she will want to wallpaper a room of her house with it. I told you the album could stand up. The cover ... ... a few of the pages... I like to ...
