We Made It!

We made it to NJ.  What should have been a 7 hour drive turned into a very ugly 12 and 32 minutes.  Traffic was a nightmare on the NJ Turnpike.  We were in stop and go traffic for 3 hours. Did I mention that "Gabby", our GPS system took us smack through Washington DC right up Pennsylvania Avenue....North of where George and Laura live.  I thought about stopping in for tea but we were really in a rush.
Needless to say, we arrived safely, despite the constant dreary weather and continuous rain.
Goodnight, Peeps!  I am very tired....(yawn)

An Update:  upon leaving Atlanta, we decided to call it quits in Henderson, NC. This portions of the drive took about 7 hours.  On Sunday, we hit the raid at 7:11 and did not arrive at my sister's house until 7:45.  The NJ Turnpike was overloaded with "volume".

Oh my, you poor thing. You must never, never go through Washington DC. I did that once on my way down to a wedding in Virginia. What a mistake.

We had a longer trip than usual down from the Adirondacks yesterday because of the weather and holiday traffic. But yours sounds much worse! Sorry my state wasn't more welcoming! ;-) Glad you made it!

Ugh. Those GPS things can get you in a pickle if you're not careful. Mine got me lost in Baltimore once. I wasn't happy. Hope your mother's transition is an easy one....

Okay, I'm thinking how did you drive from Georgia to Jersey in 7 hours....but I'm thinking you drove from D.C. to Jersey...but 12 hours?? that usually takes 5! Oh I'm so confused.....
