Friday Stuff

Today begins the holiday weekend.  We really do not have a lot of plans other than my son is coming over today.  Both my boys love PW's Brisket so off to the market yesterday and I purchased a 13 pound brisket.  The marinade began yesterday and right now, I am smelling the delicious aroma of tonight’s dinner emitting from my kitchen.  Mmmm…delicious!  If you have never ventured into the world of brisket (and I had not until reading this recipe last year) you must try it.  It is literally easy easy.

Both hubby and I have summer colds, I know, Gah!  It’s probably sinus related because come on, it’s Georgia and we have more allergens floating around than “Carter has liver pills”.  That little saying was a familiar one that rolled off of my grandmother’s tongue so many times.  Ahh…Gram…I miss you dearly.

My sister and her family sent my husband The Best Pizza Ever from Giordano’s in Chicago.  My hubby celebrates his birthday tomorrow and what better way to do so with some home town food.  Now I know, there is this huge debate over NY style pizza vs.. Chicago Thick crust pizza.  Let’s face it, the twain shall never meet.  Will never come to terms with what is real pizza and I almost forgot the all time favorite “the corner tavern pizza” which can be ordered anywhere in Chicago.  The South just does not have good pizza.  Hands down.  Forget it.  What they offer here is NOT pizza.

So this holiday is getting off on the right foot…well, the food foot!  Guess I’ll have to do some walkin’ this weekend!!

Lassie Lockwood out for today!!!

Being a pizza addict and you know I love NY thin crust pizza...I have to say that both Chicago and NY are equally delicious....I have only had the deep dish once in Chicago but it was fabulous...I just don't think I could eat as much of it as that paper thin crust....and i agree the South should stop trying to make pizza all together.....
