Sunday

Today was one of those mornings when I woke several times, but decided going back to sleep was the best choice. In retrospect, probably not a good idea because when I finally dragged my sorry butt out of bed, I had a headache. Coffee and Excedrin Migraine is the breakfast of champions!

Deciding something more substantial was needed other than the above mentioned, I ventured into the kitchen to make BLT's for my husband and I. It is, after all, his favorite sandwich. This week I did something quite out of the ordinary, I strayed from the Oscar Meyer bacon and purchased Hormel. I guess after almost 35 some years, I felt that Oscar Meyer just wasn't cutting it anymore. Honestly, Smithfield brand is not very good, no matter what Paula Dean says. Happy to report that Hormel may replace OM in this house.

Since my camera is in the company of my daughter, I had to search for an appropriate photo that suits my mood today. This photo was taken in Colorado in Manitoba Springs just outside Pikes Peak. If given the choice, this would be a great spot to summer with it's mild temperatures, views of the Rockies and friendly folks. This stream flows directly from the mountains and is surprising very chilly. Chilly would be refreshing here in Atlanta where mid June when the temps are squelching outside.

That's all I got for a slow Sunday.

I left Atlanta to get rid of the heat and it is 100 plus heat index down on Hilton Head. Your photo of Manitoba Springs looks inviting and cool. We both need cool:)

Slow Sundays are the best. After church, I changed into comfy clothes and decided to say in and veg with the AC.

I buy the already cooked bacon and it's pretty darn good without all the splatter and grease.

I love that picture.

mmmm BLT's my favorite too as long as it is fresh grown tomatoes, not from the grocery store, also we use spinach so I guess technically it's a BST. That's what we had for dinner tonight, with cucumbers and squash from the garden.
Hope your headache has eased away, it's a terrible way to wake up.

A very nice Sunday post, but not the headache part for you, of course.

Your Colorado photo is gorgeous. What a beautiful place with weather to match.

We don't eat bacon very often around here, mostly in tomato season for BLT's. So, I cheat and buy the Hormel precooked bacon (a big package from Sam's Club gives us enough BLT's) which heats up quickly in the microwave. So, yes, I do like the taste of Hormel bacon.

Was this a pic you took, or found on the web? Did you visit this place? Perfect for a travel blog...

Weird! Jason and I doing anything and everything to save money these days so we switched from OM to Hormel a couple of weeks ago. My extremely picky husband now prefers Hormel! Yeah:)
