One of the Crowd

Image
Some days, I feel like just one of the bunch. Mixed into the crowd. Never the extrovert, always more of the introvert. Can you find me in the crowd? Right over there... Looking right into the camera.

Sunday

Image
Today was one of those mornings when I woke several times, but decided going back to sleep was the best choice. In retrospect, probably not a good idea because when I finally dragged my sorry butt out of bed, I had a headache. Coffee and Excedrin Migraine is the breakfast of champions! Deciding something more substantial was needed other than the above mentioned, I ventured into the kitchen to make BLT's for my husband and I. It is, after all, his favorite sandwich. This week I did something quite out of the ordinary, I strayed from the Oscar Meyer bacon and purchased Hormel. I guess after almost 35 some years, I felt that Oscar Meyer just wasn't cutting it anymore. Honestly, Smithfield brand is not very good, no matter what Paula Dean says. Happy to report that Hormel may replace OM in this house. Since my camera is in the company of my daughter, I had to search for an appropriate photo that suits my mood today. This photo was taken in Colorado in Manitoba Springs ju

How I Love Current Affairs

My friend, You Know Who You Are! , noted this new Blog Site a few months back.  Since then, I have subscribed to the site in order to keep up on current lingo.  Today’s phrase was pretty funny.  And despite all of the celebrity death’s, someone still found time to recall another story in the news.    June 27: Hiking in Appalachia To have an extramarital affair. Stems from the disappearance and subsequent reappearance of South Carolina Governor, Mark Sanford(R). Gov. Sanford was thought to be hiking in Appalachia. In actuality, he was having an affair in the South American country of Argentina. Girl, I just saw Susie's man hiking in Appalachia.

Curse of the Threes

Bad things happen in threes. We've all heard it over and over again. This week's passing of icons in tv and entertainment has reassured the curse of the threes. Ed McMahon....Farrah Fawcett...Michael Jackson... Rest in Peace.

Lazy River Part II

Image
More of the lazy river… and the family of ducks who love their home… The Chattahoochee River on a hot, humid day in the hot, humid city of Atlanta. …and I’m feeling a summer give a way around the corner…

Today…That’s It

Image
Sitting at my computer this morning, waiting for the satellite repairman to come, sipping my morning coffee and I am wondering… “What the heck am I going to post today?"  Well, here goes.  And i promise you, it will not be profound in any way, shape or matter.  Although I dozed off last night by 10:15 and woke up stretching my arms above my head at 8:00 this morning, every thing hurts.  It’s an inner pain that has me convinced I have joined the fibromyalgia club.  All of my female relatives have this affliction, yet, I have refused to participate up to now.  There is no other solution but to live on Advil or Aleve. Coffee just isn’t coffee without hazelnut creamer in it.  Yesterday, my husband poured skim milk in my coffee and I swear, my stomach wanted to revolt.  Maybe what I drink isn’t really coffee but creamer with a splash of coffee. I am fervently attempting to attack my list.  Currently, I have read 50 pages of Deception Code.  The deception was revealed but I

Lazy River

Image
Up a lazy river by the old mill stream That lazy, hazy river where we both can dream Linger in the shade of an old oak tree Throw away your troubles, dream a dream with me Up a lazy river where the robins song Wakes up in the mornin, as we roll along Blue skies up above ....everyone's in love Up a lazy river, how happy we will be, now Up a lazy river with me

Goals…and Then Some

Image
This week, I vow to complete 3 out of these 5 projects. 1.  Finish reading Dan Brown’s Deception Point 2.  Finish reading Nora Robert’s 3. Complete the book I am in the process of making for my Mother 4.   Clean my desk/craft table 5.  Organize my rubber stamps to finally get them out of the boxes and on the shelf 6. Finish my lovely book from last Sunday’s class.  7.  Make sure I visit 8 crafting blogs, one a day to enter the big give a way from Spellbinder's Give a Way 8.  Learn my new phone (oh, wait…that’s more things than I agreed to do) Any bets on what I really do this week? Does anyone know what type of flower this is?  I posted it because I really love the texture of the leaves. Granted, it has nothing to do with this post, but it’s my blog and I can post whatever I want!!!

Things That Bug Me

Image
Drivers who leave their signals on long after they change lanes. Bloggers who never visit your site, even though you always leave messages on their blogs. People who leave the bread bag open. Those that refuse to change the empty toilet paper roll. People who are indifferent to most everything. Lack of true customer service...it's the customers who keep companies in business. Spending $25 a year to get discounts at a large book store. Not gonna do it anymore. Actual bugs, bug me. People who procrastinate. Tupperware Plastic bags People who sneak into the 15 item or less line with 134 things in their baskets. I could go on and on but I am trying to start the weekend off with a smile...may be a forced smile, but a smile all the same!

I'm Craving......

Image
Today, I am craving.... chocolate. But it is too dang hot to put the oven on, so these are my virtual brownies. I'll share. Take one!

PEACE

Image
"North Korea warned Wednesday of a "thousand-fold" military retaliation against the U.S. and its allies if provoked, the latest threat in a drumbeat of rhetoric in defense of its rogue nuclear program". Let's all pray for PEACE today.

One Year Ago Today

Image
I have a blogging void at the moment. This photo happens to be what we were doing one year ago today. I'll take it! It was humid and my hair was flat...just sayin'

O Susan

Image
‘O Susan, Susan, lovely dear, My vows shall ever true remain; Let me kiss off that falling tear; We only part to meet again. Change as ye list, ye winds; my heart shall be The faithful compass that still points to thee. John Gay (1685–1732)

Analog to Digitial

Boy, am I glad this if finally here. No more stupid little ticker on the screen. Good Bye, Rabbit Ears!

Really? Really??

Now, I've seen everything.

The Flower of Yesteryear

Image
Nothing says yesteryear than hydrangeas. One look at this beautiful snowball flower and I imagine antique lace, doilies, and the hint of Scarlett O'Hara whispering to Rhett. I have never been lucky enough to grow hydrangeas. For some reason, I lack that green thumb required to produce these beauties. Send me your photos of the hydrangeas in your yard. I can't wait to see them!

No Juicy

Image
Perhaps it’s because of my age. Perhaps it is due to the fact that I am not fashion savvy at all… Perhaps, I just am so disconnected from the younger generation… I would rather lock all of the doors, buy a chastity belt for her, and send her to a nunnery then allow my daughter to wear something like this in public. …but that’s just me.

A Crafty Project

Mindless Gabber

Image
Going to sleep is quite the chore for me. I can’t seem to turn off my brain. Sometimes, I rethink the day. Other times, I wonder about what to blog for the next day. Then I focus on the glaring light emitting from my clock on my nightstand. Blue glowing LED light. It is quite annoying. Every night, I turn the annoying blue glowing LED down on my nightstand. However, I can see the light streaming out from the bottom. I place my DIRECTV remote control directly next to the alarm clock. Believe me, it helps a lot. Perhaps I should just kill the clock all together. Problem solved.

My Taurus horoscope - Week of June 1, 2009 You're very patient, Taurus, and you take your time as you go about your daily routine. However, this week your energy level amps up considerably, thanks to the recent entry of active Mars in Taurus in your sector of self. On Thursday Mars in Taurus trines Pluto and you may embark on a new exercise program. Once you speed up your metabolism, you'll find it easier to lose weight. Your urge to live in beautiful surroundings increases on Saturday, as Venus, your lovely ruling planet, enters domestic Taurus. You may start an ambitious home decorating project. (I know I used this photo before, but who doesn’t love looking at it?) How does the universe know that I am dieting and aside for my dizzy spells, I have lots more energy. Now as for exercising, the gym is 1/3 of a mile from my home.  It is free.  Why am I not going there? OK, I promise….I will get my butt over there, Miss Universe.
