Coffee and A Little Cream...

Image
It is Saturday! Glorious Saturday! The weather is just fantastic here in Atlanta. But... Yawn...coffee please. Oh wait, I have coffee. Coffee without my Italian Sweet Cream It should be a crime not to have your favorite coffee creamer in the house. Wait, I think it is a crime in 16 states... but alas, not in Georgia. Guess I need to get my butt to the store. Do you need me to pick anything up for you?

What Kept Me Up Last Night

If I was being judged on my ability to fall asleep last night, I am afraid I would have been given a .005 on a scale from 0 to 100. Yes, I watched a bit of ladies figure skating last night in which our little girl scored the highest ever of her career which is why I thought this scoring system worked well. I also managed to watch all of the episodes of The Office that air on Tuesday nights on TBS . I learned how Jim and Pam finally got engaged. Having Tivo in your bedroom is probably not a good idea. Anyway, after turning off the TV, snuggling my pillows, fan blowing in my face, I try to drift off to sleep. And then...POW! This enters my brain... How many beers can you name in 60 seconds? I am not kidding you. Would I write about this if if wasn't real? So, I play along with my fragmented brain activity at 1:00 am. Bud Bud Light (easy, right?) Miller Miller Light Pabst Blue Ribbon (remember, I grew up in Chicago) Dos Equis Amber Boc k(now I am getting into the fancy beers) Ams

A Day In The Life of Jack

My cute little Grand Boy loves his "choo choo". We play "choo choo" all day long . It is so fun to watch his development. At first, he simply could not put the track together or place Thomas on the tracks. But now, he can attach the tracks and place some of the engines on the tracks. Being a Grand Mom is such a blessing!

Surprise Weekend

Image
Not how I thought I would be spending my weekend.... Visiting my husband in the hospital... His cellulitis went out of control and required IV antibiotics. Between mega pain meds and now class three antibiotics, he's beginning to get a little better. However, surgery may be required to removed as much of the infection as possible. Good times.

$5 Dollar...$5 Dollar...$5 Dollar....

$5 dollar for 2 dozen roses! Really! Whole Foods ended up being overstocked for Valentines Day due to our bad weather when people opted to stay inside. Lucky for me, I picked up this gorgeous bunch of red roses for the price of a foot long sandwich!

Multi Tasking

On Sunday, I grabbed a box of chocolate cake mix and whipped up some cupcakes. After they cooled and were iced, I ran over to my Cricut to add a little holiday charm. With a piece of scrap paper and my trusty cartridges, I found the heart I wanted to use and ordered my machine to produce 6 hearts. Next, I poured through my huge inventory of stamps and found this charming stamp by Stamps by Judith . Voila! Now for today. Whew! I feel as though it should be 11 PM. Off to an early meeting with the staff at Whole Foods! I picked up some ground bison for my lasagna. Of course, I could never just pick up one item, so $55 later, I finally hit the road. When I walked in the door, I spied my husband's ever growing chin. Red. Swollen. Painful. I said get your butt to the ER. After a small fortune later, he was diagnosed with Cellulitis. Had he waited yet another day, the ER doc said he would have looked like a pumpkin by tomorrow. Poor baby! Back to the store to drop off his two n

My Outside

A winter wonderland in Atlanta? It's true! Look at the wonderment we enjoyed today. I absolutely love photos like this. To me, this speaks of a serenity. Days like this should be bottled to use on a future date to draw from when one needs a calming moment.

Snow In Atlanta

It just started coming down like crazy. If it keeps up like this... we will have several inches on the ground in no time!

I Got Nothing

I have absolutely nothing to write about these days. Is it the dreary winter we are experiencing? I am yearning for spring. Where were the crocus this year? I missed them. Did they come and go without saying hi? Do I really spy a bud of some kind on the tree on the corner or is it just wishful thinking? I am so enamored with the extra sunlight these days. I finally introduced myself to the treadmill and the elliptical machine. I guess all is not lost. LOST! Lost is on tonight. Something to look forward to! Florida is in 5 weeks. I am hoping that my daughter actually won a trip to the Lodge at PW's and is waiting to surprise me next weekend. Did I tell you I live in a dreamland most of my waking hours? Until I have something noteworthy.... Adieu!

Just An Update

Image
I have been remiss relative to my blog these days. My mind has been consumed with the task at preparing several wedding invitations and other such items for a friend of my daughter's. Upon being asked to take on this task, I was immediately honored, however, very quickly I felt a bit of panic and the extreme sense of overwhelming doubts. But.... I quickly wrapped my brain around this project and began planning. On Tuesday, I meet with the bride to be to present my ideas to her. Perhaps, things will settle down after Tuesday. I've been so focused that I missed a local tea party at Joyce's . I am so sorry Joyce! My little Pumpkin is just growing like a little weed and eating me out of house and home! A typical day requires two breakfasts for little Jack. We start off with Cheerios, followed an hour later by cheesy eggs. After his 2 hour nap, I fix him vegetables, fruit and maybe mac and cheese. This holds him over until about 4 o'clock when he demands more than a sn

What The?

My hair is getting curlier and curlier. And that is all I have to say about that subject.

Valentine's Day Preview

Well, maybe you don't! It is not really that obvious, but regardless, here goes! Let me present the big reveal to you. Here is what I have been working on in January. My Valentine's Day Memory Box... I'm thinking of calling myself The Box Lady! However, I have already named my Etsy site It's Just Paper! The paper is so bright and cheery and just the perfect way to express love! Happy Early Valentine's Day!
