Kittens or Babies...What's the Difference?

Having a new baby in the family, I have the explicit pleasure in showing him off to anyone that will stand still for more than a second and a half! Jack is such a cutie pie, who wouldn't want to oooo's and awww's over this little doll. Last week, we stopped by his Uncle Steven's house. One of his friends, who will be unnamed for reasons you will understand after I tell this story, came out to the car to meet Jack for the first time. Being the good baby that he is, Jack was asleep in his car seat, when the friend opened the car door to see the baby. I was surprised to hear that said this single friend made all the appropriate comments regarding Jack. "Oh, he is so cute." "He's so tiny!", and finally, the last comment..."When do they open their eyes? Like at 6 weeks?"

After the laughter stopped and I wiped the tears from my face, I said, "He's not a kitten. Babies open their eyes immediately after birth!" Obvisiously, this friend has not been around babies very much but knows a lot about puppies and kittens!

That is hilarious! Tears are still stinging the corners of my eyes. Oh, that's good. Yes, he is a doll, Deb! Can't waiti to meet him in person.

It is April of  2019. The year that marks my 65th trip around the sun.  Somehow, I always knew that I would make this landmark. There was never a doubt in my mind. The first 65 years have been trouble free. Moderate medical issues. One simple surgery in 2017.  This year will also mark 47 years of marriage to one man. Give me a standing O now, please! Christmas in July Give A Way

What better way to celebrate the middle of summer with a give a way for one lucky blogging friend? Just because I want to, I will be giving away a Christmas box with an accordion album. This happens to be my design and I have already given one away last December. Sorry, Kate , you will have to sit this one out! This paper mache box holds an accordion album inside. More than likely, I will make a minor modification to the box before shipping it to its new home. I really love these vintage papers from Melissa Frances Scrapbook . Her collection of designs and patterns reminds me of a little sea side cottage. I can smell the ocean spray right now. These papers bring me back to a time when I think I would have loved to live…The Victorian Age. But let’s not fool anyone, I want all of the modern day luxuries.
