Grossed Out
Walking out of the grocery store today, I walked behind a woman. She was in her late 20's, well presented. My appreciation of the day was quickly interrupted by the sound of "splat". Coming back into consciousness, I looked around. Where did this sound come from? Much to my shock, I noticed spit on the pavement. My mind was reeling. Did this woman actually spit on the pavement knowing she wasn't alone? Have you ever wondered if what you were thinking actually spilled out of your mouth? Much to my total disbelieve, the woman spit on the ground again as if to say "yeah, I did it". Grossed out? You better believe it. Since when do women who drive a Lexus SUV spit on the ground. Since when does any women spit in public? Or in private for that matter? Spitting is considered rude and a socially taboo in many parts of the world. Although I guess spitting is acceptable in the Republic of China. (thank you Wikipedia) I am appreciative that the wind wasn't blowing...
Preparing for the Storm
With the forecast of snow, yes I said snow, north of Atlanta area sometime tomorrow, I will be joined with 3 million of my closest friends all vying to “pick up a few things” at the grocery store. Weather men will name this storm clever little names like “Snow Jam 2009” or “Blizzard of 09”. It is due to this frenzy our local TV channels broadcast that turns a logical human being into well, a panicked Southerner. You see, we Southerners panic with the mere forecast of snow anywhere in the state of Georgia. I am sure this will be much ado about nothing, but one must be prepared. What if the trucks cannot get into the area to restock the shelves? That is the worry we all share and we are sticking to it! We fear not being able to have a sufficient supply of bread, milk, hot chocolate mix, fixin’s for chili and brownies. No household in Georgia will be void of these items. I believe it must be imbedded into our DNA even if some of us are...
Joe the Plumber
Here's a thought before I begin my driving marathon today... No matter which man wins the Presidency, the winner should put Joe the Plumber on the White House staff. He will be the only man in America that has heard all the crap during the campaign and then would be in charge of disposing of it. I know...that was really bad...but somebody was going to say it so it should be me.
