Mumbo Jumbo Stuff

I cannot recall when I have had so many headaches. Seriously, it is insane. My expert opinion clearly blames the oppressive heat and humidity as we have now achieved 16 straight days of over 90 degrees. Today, trying to eat healthy, I prepared tuna fish salad over a bed of arugula and accompanied this dish with a fresh red apple. Sounds great right? Well, be advised never, I repeat never to chase your vitamins with a glass of iced tea post lunch. Not a very pretty sight. Where is my Moose Track ice cream? To hell with healthy eating. The wedding invitations are almost finished. OMG! I am so very pleased with this project. Little Jack is running a fever and feeling under the weather. He is supposed to sleep over at Mimi's house tomorrow night. I promised him popcorn and the movie Cars. Waffles for a Saturday breakfast. Hope you are better little guy! Now where is the dock?

A Kinder, Gentler Life

In life, there are certain things that separate us from one another. There are kind souls who truly feel compassion for others. I have been behind those racing through the toll booth to find out that my toll was paid by a kind person ahead of me. Often, we meet someone who is just unbelievably rude in life or someone that flips us the bird for  turning right.  It truly boggles my mind. However, civility would rush over all if we simply used place cards for dinner parties! Here’s the link I found, thanks to HGTV that I wanted to share you all of you! Thanksgiving Place Cards Although I own Christmas Place cards, I have lived a unruly life at Thanksgiving.  Thank you HGTV for bringing order to my life! Hope you enjoyed the light hearted post today!

Invite Chip & Dale

The crisp fall weather has planted me firmly into the season. I am making soups. Knitting. Crocheting. Planning on the holidays before us. I even have my beef tenderloin in the freezer for my Christmas dinner thanks to a great sale.  Thanks to all of those great emails I receive, I found these little guy! Look how adorable they are!!! Chip Dale Come to me! I’d buy these if they didn’t do anything, but they serve a purpose. The are salt and pepper shakers!  Can cuteness actually harm me? They are from Pottery Barn   and reasonably priced at $24. My suggestion to you is if you are invited to a grand gathering, bring these as a hostess gift. She will love you already, but then again, I’m sure she already loves you! Happy Fall, Ya’ll!!!

Football – Family - Friends

Image
Sunday was a great day filled with family, friends, good food and fabulous football.  My daughter made turkey chili.  My friend made Poor Man’s Caviar.  My favorite red pepper relish from Harry and David’s over cream cheese adorned the table.  My contribution was Onion Bacon Cheddar Biscuits   from Pioneer Woman.  There were two kinds of brownies.  Biscuits before they dove into the warm, cozy oven.  Cheddar and Bacon and Onions…Oh my! Warm from the oven and real butter waiting to be slipped into the middle of the biscuits.   Harry and David’s roasted red pepper relish over cream cheese with just a hint of heat in the relish and the cooling smoothness of the cream cheese. Poor Man’s Caviar…be still my heart~  Pinto beans, black beans, cilantro, white corn, chopped red pepper and a sauce that marries the whole thing together so well that you will definitely go off of your diet! Turkey Chili to die for made in my mot...
